Return Home

"It is amazing how during every campaign all you can think about is sleeping when its over. But, when you get past Election Day, it is amazing how badly you want to get back to work. Perhaps it is because I come home after every election and am reminded of why I worked so hard to leave. I am not sure, but I will say this, the road takes its toll and I am glad to be paused for the moment and anxious to move on. This last election in particular was one of those times in your life where you really take stock in what it is that you think is important. It is certainly a trying experience when you answer that you are missing out on some very important things. I have always maintained a mobile life, clawing and scraping to survive. At times it has been comfortable, at times rewarding, at times taxing. But in the end it has always pushed me forward, on to the next horizon, the next adventure. This last time, it gave me a push that I was not prepared for and a pull that I will never forget. I would like to think that this was one of those "Today begins the rest of your life" moments. However, I truly believe that it was yet another in a series of sharp turns on the road. Only time will tell." - Brendan, while on vacation near his home town.
